The City’s Emergency Operations Center is fully activated and will be staffed through the end of the next snow storm, which is scheduled to begin early tomorrow morning. In anticipation of this storm, there will be a parking ban on all posted snow emergency routes (no parking on either side of the street) beginning at 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. Additionally, there will be an ODD side parking ban on the following streets beginning at 6 a.m. tomorrow. Residents should park only on the EVEN side of the following streets until further notice: Academy, Avon, Batter Terrace, Broadway, Canner, Carmel, Cassius, Clay, Clark, Cottage, Edgar, Ellsworth Avenue, Edgehill, Greene, Harding, Henry, Hotchkiss, Hughes Place, Ivy, Lexington Avenue, Lilac, Lloyd, Lenox, Lyon, Jefferson, Maple, Norton, Salem, Saltonstall, Scranton, Sheffield, Shelter, Stanley, University Place, Welcome and Wolcott. Residents on all other streets should also park only on the EVEN side to allow for plows to pass through your street.

I’d like to remind residents to remember to clear your sidewalks, make sure that your car is not blocking traffic and be careful to not shovel snow back into the streets. If possible, I encourage all residents to stay off the roads during snow events and or to carpool. If you would like to report street hazards, are in need of emergency shelter or have concerns about the weight of snow on your roof, please call the Emergency Operations Center at 203-946-8221. A live operator will be available to answer your questions around the clock. You can also call 203-946-SNOW for important storm updates.

If you have an elderly or disabled neighbor, or know someone in need of assistance, please take a moment to offer a helping hand. This is an especially severe winter and it is important that we all work together to ensure the safety and wellbeing of one another.
